Plex behind vpn

I am very new to this, but do have a Plex server and have been struggling with how I can have both VPN up and Plex remote access. Looking at the 4 points above I am stuck on Step 4. Make traffic over the Plex port bypass the VPN. Where do I create the 'openvpn-event' script (/jffs/scripts or somewhere else)
